How to cook Chana Dal?

2. In a pressure cooker, add the soaked Chana Dal, 4 cups of water, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, 1tbsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tbsp oil/ghee, a pinch of hing/asafoetida.
3. Pressure cook for 3 whistles.
